Job title : Engineering Staff Manager

Reports to : General Manager
 
Engineering manager is a staff function reporting directly to the general manager. The functional area of responsibilities
is as below:

New Product Introduction; Process; Preventive Maintenance; Platform Strategy Planning; Equipment Capacity Planning,
process & equipment specialists and Set-up; New Build of Material Qualification, Equipment Cost of Ownership and TPM
activities, mini-company, and industrial engineering.

Key Areas of Accountability:

1. People and projects management form the core of the engineering manager’s responsibilities and give the basis to
   develop and introduce “Best in class” practices to support business growth and manufacturing excellence objectives

2. The engineering manager is responsible to liase with parent’s product development groups, Global Competence Center (GCC)
   and equipment suppliers in order to ensure the timely introduction of robust processes and products, equipment
   introduction and total manufacturing of products.

3. Coordination and execution for the qualification of:

- New packages

- New types

- New processes

4. Introduction of new equipment by the following:

- Specification

- Initial spare parts

- Ordering

- Set-up

- Run-in

- Buy-off

- Release to production

5. Support the manufacturing in assisting and prevent recurrence of issues ensure reliability of improvements. Ensuring
   Process engineers and equipment specialists are continuously improving the production operations in terms of skills,
   knowledge, methods, machine and materials.

6. Represent on Platform Strategy Planning and Development working groups and support management in Small Signal
   Package Envelope Meetings in supporting the total business line supply chain.

7. To support and coach on projects/assignments carried out by engineering staff.

8. Identify and develop a successor within the assigned period of 2 years.

9. Maintaining and building the engineering competence

·  Benchmarking and contacts

·  Knowledge and networking

·  Development and training

10.Responsible for the APM/NXP technical capacity to strive for best-cost benefit relation on engineering resources and
   total cost of ownership.

11.To maintain and improve External Customer Satisfaction by constantly benchmarking APM/NXP against best in class when
   possible.

12.To maintain and improve Internal Customer satisfaction by constantly monitoring performance and developing improvement
   plans.

13.To meet the automotive quality standards (TS 16949) & requirements.

14.Responsible for the Environmental Health and safety of the company as per ISO14001 EMS requirements.

15.To involved in mini-company process, TPM activities and NXP improvement activities.
