him up for an interview with the Senior Manager for the Technical Operation Manager vacancy.
technology and business conditions including industry best practices. He also spend some time reviewing his best achievements to be shared during the interview and most importantly brushing up some of his interview skills & tips for success.
The week past quickly. The big day came and before meeting up with the Senior Manager, he has to wait at the secretary office. He arrived about 20 minutes ahead of the scheduled interview
time. So far, everything is going as per his plan. The secretary, Linda who is a friendly middle aged lady started a conversation with John. John with butterflies forming in his stomach replied briefly as if he is ignoring Linda’s polite gesture for a conversation. Sensing that John was not so responsive, she went back to her work. Even though she was still smiling but the bad impression Linda had of John is that he is not a friendly person.
During the interview, he overly boasted on his achievements and he thought he answered all the questions and was extremely sure the Senior Manager was impressed with his achievement
and capability. The Senior Manager maskingly introduced him to the other senior and operation managers including to some of John’s future staff while bringing him for a short tour around
the facilities. Before they end the interview, the senior manager shared his timeline when he needs to close this vacancy and John’s future main responsibilities. The signs are so positive that made John is so confident that he will be the next Technical Operation Manager.
But after 1 month, he did not get any offer letter but unfortunately received a reject letter. What a shock to John!!”

Till then,
Best regards
Yusoff
