Have you ever follow up after an interview?
Saturday, May 31, 2008 19:07Today’s post will be very short.
I would like to open a survey.
“Have you ever follow up after an interview?”
The most common way is either by phone call, e-mail or send a “follow up” letter or all as mentioned to the interviewer.
If you have done so or have never thought of doing so, please leave your comments. It will be good if you could share your experience.
Thanks
I’ll be back tomorrow to share the result from the survey ( I’m doing an on-line and off-line survey)
Stay tune.
Regards
Yusoff

i feel that by calling the enployer to ask for the status would be an offensive call to them.As even myself i worked in HR and when there’s candidate calling me up asking for their status all i can says is that “In process”.But am not sure if we look at the otherside,by calling the employer will give a good impression in a way by telling them that you are really interested with the job.But it’s depends on how they take it.
for an instance i took the number if my interviewer at the end of the session.Since i guess it would be better if i call him straight rather than call HR department, since i know that i’m not the only one who came for the interview.Well i’m not sure. Not everyone will give their contact number…
what say u…:)

Farrah, you have raised a good point for discussion.
If you are applying a job with a big corporation, you will encounter this problem when handling with HR not directly with the interviewer or hiring manager. A good way rather than making a phone call is by sending a follow up e-mail. You can either asked for the e-mail address at the end of the interview which is usually a direct e-mail to the interviewer or ask for his/her business card. Asking a business card usually works except he/she has run out of it. The bottomline is, at the end of the interview, make sure you get some sort of way to have a direct contact with the interviewer. Give it a try, it usually works.
