Welcome to ResumeWeAssist.com :)
Friday, May 2, 2008 19:18Yesterday was Labour Day in Malaysia. It was a public holiday to all the labours in Malaysia including myself. As a labour for the past 8 years, as usual, every Labour Day is just a normal public holiday where I do not need to go to work
However, this year’s Labour Day is different for me. Yes, I still do not need to go to work, but I started to “work” in my apartment in Penang.
What kind of “work”, you might be asking, right?
Well, I still have my 8-5 job but this is a special “work” that I have been looking forward for. Yesterday was when I started an assignment for myself to start this blog. Yes, this blog is the “work”. I would consider this work will change my weekend lifestyle. To Farrah, my lovely wife, Yasreen & Yasmeen, my beloved 4 & 3 years old daughters, don’t worry, the time that I’ll be spending to update my blog will be well planned where during that time, you all will either be watching tv or playing or sleeping where my present is not much felt.
The purpose of this blog is simple. I just wanted to share my experience & knowledge with anyone who wants to learn tips and secrets to effectively look for a job or a career progression. Unfortunately, I am not working with a recruiting agency, so I will not find you a job and get paid
However, the interchange of knowledge & experience in this blog will help you find a job through a system which I called it CMS (Career Marketing System). I’ll be sharing whatever I know and at the same time the comments & feedback that you will be leaving in this blog will create a knowledge database for whoever visited or will be visiting this blog.
CMS is a simple system or rather a cycle to market your career. CMS as shown above is actually not new to many of us. But, unfortunately not many realized that the process we used or going to use to get a job is actually a marketing process. Now days, marketing is a buzz word in business regardless offline or online, so incorporating it into your job search will change our perspective or I would like to put it in this way, a new breath in the art of looking for a job.
In this blog, I would be sharing each portion of the CMS twice a week, usually during the weekend. I’ll cover each portion a week which will consist of:
- how to search a suitable job?
- effective resume writing – tips & mistakes to avoid
- the art of attending a successful interview – tips & mistakes to avoid
- what are you going to do after an interview – the power of follow up
- received job offer – understand your option & yes, you have the bargaining power but negotiate wisely
- decision time – tools to help you make a reasonable decision
- continuous self development – a key to your career progression
For sure, whatever I’ll be sharing in this blog is yours for FREE but I need a gentlemen or gentlewomen (don’t know if this word exist) agreement. Once you have read my blog, I will so much appreciate if you could drop your comments or feedback before you leave. I don’t mind any kind of comments from you as long the topic is the same and please mind your language.
This blog is been created for us to share and interchange knowledge in the art of CMS. Until the next post, take care and looking forward to hear your comments.
Thanks.
My best regards to all.
Yusoff
